About me
My name is Vicki and I have been "officially" training dogs now for 4 years, I have studied with the OCN and gained NVQ Level 2 in Dog Training and Behaviour.
I have recently gained Membership Status of the KCAI Scheme (Kennel Club Accredited Instructor)
I have always had a strong passion for animals and probably drove my parents mad as a child, bringing various pets home! I have always had a knack for training dogs but only recently decided upon it as a career, I originally qualified as a childrens Behaviour Assistant, working in various schools across the borough, but something was never quite right. I finally decided to take the plunge and started working with a friend at her training classes, giving me valuable insight into, not only how classes were run, but more importantly how to deal with the owners!
I thoroughly enjoy running my classes and myself and the members can often be found laughing out loud at their (and my) dogs antics!
I have a CRB Disclosure certificate.
I do not believe in dominance theories, pack hierarchies or any of that nonsense, I believe in order to get the best from your dog you must have a mutual love and respect for one another. Dogs will only do what we have taught them to do. If you have ever been trained by someone and it didn't feel right, it probably wasn't, always trust your gut and go with your heart.
I also run my own Flyball team in which myself and my partner compete with our dogs in this fast paced sport, it's a great outlet for the dogs and gets VERY competitive for the handlers! for more information on flyball, CLICK HERE to visit our team website
